🎉 Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! This month, we celebrate the rich histories, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic communities. Today, our community kicked off the celebration with a presentation from Mr. Melendez, who shared: “It’s about honoring the traditions passed down through family, from the food and music to the language and stories that connect us to our roots. Students had a blast with this year’s Egg Drop Challenge! Working in teams, they designed creative contraptions to protect their eggs from cracking during the big drop. 5th grade made galaxy projects to end their space unit! Each student designed their own galaxy, complete with a solar system, stars, planets, and constellations! An out of this world way to end the year.😊⭐️🪐

Our 8th graders are diving into Civics and last Friday, they got a real-world lesson from one of our community's leaders! We were honored to welcome State Representative Frank A. Today was Career Day at Bellesini! Our 7th and 8th graders had the opportunity to hear words of advice and explore career paths across a variety of industries. 💼✨ We’re incredibly grateful to the professionals from Pentucket Bank, Cardigan Partners, BAE Systems, HubSpot, and various hospitals and private practices who shared their time and insights with our students—especially our amazing alum Minh, now a Senior Software Engineer at BAE Systems!

History came to life in Ms. Hallamore’s social studies class as students learned about World War I and the Western Front! To better understand trench warfare, students transformed their classroom into a battlefield—using desks and chairs to build trenches and launching pom poms as "ammunition." After the simulation, students reflected on the effectiveness of trench warfare and agreed: it was not the best strategy for winning a war. Up next: continuing their study of WWI and diving into WWII, where they will explore the evolution of military technology through the years!

Our 5th grade girls had a great time visiting @windrushfarm in North Andover! They learned how horses help people grow emotionally, physically, and mentally through therapeutic riding and other activities. Thank you, Windrush!

🌍🔬 Learning about tectonic plates has never been sweeter! Our 6th graders used graham crackers and frosting to model the three types of plate boundaries: convergent, divergent, and transform. 🍪➡️⬅️ Through this hands-on activity, students saw firsthand how Earth's shifting plates shape our planet.

🌟 Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Hallamore! 🌟 Meet Ms. Hallamore, our dedicated 5th and 6th Grade Social Studies teacher! She’s currently pursuing her master’s degree at Boston College and has been teaching at Bellesini for two years. Her favorite part of Bellesini? Teaching history to students who are eager to learn! 🏛️✨ When she’s not in the classroom, you can find her needlepointing!

💜✨ Celebrating Women’s History Month! ✨💜 Ms. Dow and the Girls’ Empowerment Club came together to transform our bulletin board in honor of Women’s History Month! 🎉💪 The display highlights influential women throughout history, their powerful words, and a special tribute to the incredible female teachers and staff at Bellesini who inspire us every day. 👩‍🏫💡 This month, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women past and present! 🌎

🌿🐛 Ecosystems in a Bottle! 🌱 Ms. Dow’s 5th-grade scientists have been hard at work building their own eco-columns! 🌎✨ These mini-ecosystems are made of two connected chambers: 🔹 The bottom holds water, gravel, and aquatic plants 💧🌿 🔹 The top contains soil, worms, and seeds 🌱🐛 A string connects the two, helping water cycle naturally between them! ♻️💦 Students are learning what an ecosystem needs to function and seeing firsthand how everything works together in balance. 🌿🔬

The Bellesini Academy community came together to celebrate Ash Wednesday Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church this week. Our 7th grade girls played a special role in assisting during the service. We are truly grateful to be part of the St. Mary's family and for the opportunity to share this meaningful moment of reflection and faith. 🙏

📖 Stepping Into History! 📰 Mr. Batt’s class took a deep dive into World War II using authentic Life magazines from the era! Students explored firsthand accounts, wartime advertisements, and historical reporting before breaking into small groups for a thoughtful discussion. They're using what they’ve learned to write their own papers on WWII, analyzing how the war shaped daily life, media, and public opinion. Studying history through primary sources brings the past to life! ✍️🔎

🌊🐋 Ecosystem in Action! 🐟🌱 Ms. Dow’s 5th grade science class dove into food chains and food webs with a hands-on game of Ecosystem Tag! 🌿⚡️ Students took on the roles of whales, salmon, herring, and krill, racing to tag their prey and transfer energy through the food chain. This interactive lesson helped them see firsthand how energy moves through an ecosystem. Learning science has never been more fun! 🔬✨
